5 Ways to prevent stress on your big day

Lets talk about STRESS. Having a wedding is one of THE most stressful events in our lifetime. The combination of money, family members, unknown vendors and the dream of everything being perfect on this day, can drive anyone crazy.

Here’s some advice on how to make sure you’ll stay sane and as stress free as possible. Especially if you don’t have a wedding planner and you’re doing this all by yourself:

1. PREPARATION- finish as many of the preparations as possible 3 weeks before your wedding day. that means signing the contracts with all your vendors, down payments and choosing the design. Full to do list is pinned on top of the page.

2. TRUST YOUR VENDORS!!! when you pick a vendor, listen to your gut, feel the vibes and the connection. read reviews and make educated decisions. your vendor should make you feel at ease, excited and happy with your choice. as soon as you have signed the contract, LET IT GO. Don’t micromanage the vendor you chose. if he’s good, you’re just being irritating, if he’s bad, there’s nothing you’ll be able to do to change it.

3. Hire a DAY OF coordinator! So many couples think they can do all of the planning on their own, and that’s completely fine.... up until the day of the wedding. If you can, hire someone to handle the details on the actual day, it will help to alleviate so much stress. You should be a guest at your wedding, not the staff. a coordinator will help everything run smoothly, set up a timeline for you, help you with everything you need like guest count and so on.

4.BLOW OFF SOME STEAM. take a day to blow off some steam. whether its a spa day with a massage or a break it room where you smash some crap into pieces with a baseball bat, you need at least half a day of relaxation. Put it in your calendar (2-3 days before the wedding) and follow through. You’ll be feeling refreshed and more relaxed if you do :)

5. REMEMBER THE BIG PICTURE! You know what I'm about to say: You can’t control everything. Zippers will break, flower girls will cry, and what matters is the marriage, not the height of the centerpieces. You are celebrating your relationship and starting a life together with all of the people you love. Even if not everything is perfect, remember you’re marrying the love of your life.
